Our group chose the song by Madeon entitled “The City”. It’s a fast paced EDM (electronic dance music) song that adopts a style common throughout the genre that slowly gains and lowers the pace throughout. With EDM concerts adobting a common “VJ” Style we thought the genre choice was a smart one. With lots of beats, and rhythm changes to synchro- nize visuals to this song plays into our vision quite well. The song lyrcs also provoke a visual look, and a sense of adven- ture. We want to re-create these types of visuals using either 2D Illustrator style graphics, or possibly 3D polygonal type landscapes with composited effects to create a vast landscape we can move the virtual camera throughout.
Using our modeled stage we can almost recreate a similar look of the album cover with the landscape covering multiple sections of the stage with the main focus being on a big section in the middle of the stage. Using similar VJ style graphics we can cut to different loops throughout the song, synced to the music of course to create a visually stunning experience. The landscape can change over time as the song progresses, and the chrous that repeats lends itself to a certain pacing that we can use for placing more abstract loops around the stage.
But this video is only my part with motion VJ graphic before shot mapping project.
